HELLO!
I hope you’ve all had a great week. I have finished my first full week back at school and getting my head around the increase in homework each night. 4 subjects!!! which should take 30 minutes each but it doesn’t always work out that way and sometimes I’m finding myself still studying at 10pm. But, I’m still enjoying Year 10 but am feeling the escalation of seriousness! Yesterday I had a great day out with the family and we went to Richmond for a walk in the sunshine and an al fresco pub lunch by the river – I devoured my usual burger and fries! We have a full house at home today with both brothers back for the weekend and I am feeling hungry as the smell of roast lamb is making its way up to my bedroom. And so to this week’s blog….
BOOTS!!
It used to be that ankle boots were restricted just to winter months but boots are being worn all year round these days. Next to trainers (oh, how I love trainers!!) boots are my most favourite items in my wardrobe. Ankle boots are not just partners to jeans, they look great paired with floaty skirts, dresses and shorts. But as we banish our shorts to the ‘under bed’ storage bags, it’s time to shop the look for all the boots out there. There are so many and in virtually every colour. Not just your staple browns and blacks, you can buy neon pinks, oranges and whites….. with buckles, with studs, embroidery…. You name it and boot will probably have it!!
Buckles made a comeback last year and there are still lots on the market this autumn.
Western cowboy boots are the new trend hitting all the high street shops at the moment, I posted a pic on insta in the week of me wearing a pair of these Topshop ones (below) – I liked them but I didn’t love them so on this occasion, I sent them back in favour of looking for some that are more a mid calf height boot. I have a motto that I learnt from my mum ‘if you can think of 3 occasions you can wear something, then it’s worth buying’ and I wasn’t sure I could cope with the putting on and off of these boots. That’s the downside, they can be sooooo difficult to get on so don’t leave putting them on till the very very last minute – you’ll be all flustered by the time you leave home. The upside however, is they look great with everything – skirts, dresses and finish off a skinny or mom jean perfectly. They’ll also jazz up a pair of leggings/jeggings with an oversized jumper (comfort and style there and my personal favourite….) And they have a low chunky heel – no falling off the kerb and twisting your ankle. Winner winner chicken dinner!

Topshop Pointed Western Boots with removable stirrups – these are the ones I returned. They may blow the bank a bit at £89, a factor in sending them back but they are cool!
Here are some more Western Boots from the High Street:

These are an absolute bargain and so pretty at just £15 from Missguided – I am currently contemplating buying these, they also come in black. How cute are these?
Here are the ones I settled on and at £39 from Topshop I know the cost per wear will work in my favour, I have already worn with jeans, a long floaty skirt and cycle shorts.
As I mentioned above you can find boots in all the colours of the rainbow, here are a few of my favourites:
And then you have your slightly ‘different’ footwear….

Im not old enough to remember the Bay City Rollers but apparently in the 70s these where the height of fashion. Today you can find them in Bershka for £40 – Jury’s out on these!
Lastly here I am wearing my new Topshop ankle boots paired with my Silk Fred dress.
Until next Sunday have a great week!
Kisses xx
