Ok so I’m not the greatest lover of animal print but you can’t deny its everywhere on the High Street right now. My mum is a sucker for a bit of animal print but I can’t help think the majority is more suitable for ‘their’ age and not us young ones. However, saying that, I believe less is more and I have found some gorgeous pieces in leopard print that I really love… At the weekend I went to Guildford and found this AMAZING red leopard print dress from Zara. So far I have kept bare legs with a little pair of boots but on colder days this will look great with a pair of black tights and a black jacket slung over.
Another find was this cute wrap skirt from Urban Outfitters, with a little slimming frill. Paired here with an oversized green jumper to make it less girly and give a little edge. This would look equally great with a denim jacket, trainers or the tights and boot combo!
The last of the animal print treasures has got to be my favourite! This yellow print ruffle skirt from Topshop is cut on the bias so gives a great slimming silhouette. I have worn this so much over the holidays and was well worth the £29 when you think cost per wear.
Here are my Best of the Rest:
1. Red Side Stripe Trousers – £36 Topshop
2. Oversized T-shirt Dresses in Black and Red Print – £18 Missguided
So Checks! Whenever I see this pattern I can’t help but be reminded of Cher Horowitz from the film Clueless. Anyone else? She was definitely my queen of the checks! I think checks are going to be really big this Autumn and Winter and much like animal print, there is loads going on in the shops…..
A checked pinafore – so easy to put on over a jumper as I have here, yet just as simple to throw on over long and short sleeve tees. I couldn’t help but choose this oversized teddy bear jacket which I have had my eye on ever since it came into store.
I fell deeply in love with this skort from Zara and whilst its still warm enough for bare legs I shall be getting the most out of it before pairing it with tights. A logo tee still seems to be fashionable and I liked this and felt it quite apt seeing as I’m getting ideas all the time for my blog! I couldn’t resist this oversized jumper either and adds a pop of colour to the tweed skort. Both outfits from Zara.
My funds wouldn’t stretch to this next outfit but I’m loving the short skirt and big jumper combo for next season and remember the cosy knit is going to be your new best friend as we head on into Autumn. When I am home from my holiday I will be doing a round up of all the gorgeous knitwear from the High Street. This whole outfit is from Zara and the cream jumper would look equally good with jeans, sweats or leggings.
I hope you have enjoyed reading this blog, have a great week and I’ll see you back here next Sunday.
