As some of you may know, I spent last weekend in Devon in a beautiful stately home – I went with my folks and their friends and about 100 children (well there were 6 but it felt that way, all under 8’s with the exception of my buddy Izzy!) The house was wicked – huge sweeping staircase, the sort you’d see in a Disney movie; tall ceilings, panelled walls and the most amazing garden…. Oh, and it had access to the beach. Downside was the weather, from the moment we arrived to the moment we left, it rained. And I’m talking like, really rained. I took lots of outfits and planned on spamming my insta squares but the weather put a real dampner on the weekend, I couldn’t get outside for fear of shrinking 6 inches so I just ate my whole body weight instead, in chocolate and other delicious naughties. So, sadly my planned blog post didn’t happen last Sunday but I did have time to pull together this one following research into the best coats and jackets out there. I have a little love of teddy faux fur and there is so much of it out there. But then what happens????? We have a bloomin’ mini heatwave….. Oh my dayz!
So. Coats! Glorious teddy faux fur ones! I have finally taken possession of my much longed for Urban Outfitters t jacket. I love it and it goes with so many of my autumnal outfits as well as jeans – and luckily for me, it was reduced from £79 to £55. Bargain Marvin! I really love it. And this Faux Fur Teddy Bomber Jacket from New Look at £29.99 looks fabulous too and comes in other colours including this gorgeous blush pink. Lovely.
Teddy Bear and faux fur is literally EVERYWHERE. I am still wearing my H&M one from last year and good news is, its back in store again this year. And at £35 it’s a bargain. It comes in this ivory and also tan. Love them both and they really are as soft and fluffy as they look, and warm!
I am also loving this faux fur collar biker jacket. I am still wearing my biker jacket from 2 years ago and it’s still very much ‘in’ this year. The thing is with these bikers, they can be worn with virtually everything – from jeans to floaty dresses and everything in between. This jacket I’ve paired with my fur collars to give it an alternative look. Missguided sell a really lovely grey faux fur stole/collar at £12. This H&M biker with a fur collar is lovely at £49.99. It also comes in a suede look style too – also gorg. Both available online only.
I also adore this faux fur patterned jacket from H&M (my mum tells me she wore something like this in the 70’s!) at £80 its a bit on the pricey side but it is lush! How great would this look over an all black outfit?
….. and this Missguided red oversized borg trucker jacket at £45! All the love. If you’re not bold enough to go red, it also comes in mustard, grey and black.
And I can’t finish my binge on teddy faux fur without showing this gorgeous pink coat from PLT. At this point in my blog, I’m worrying – what if we have a heatwave that lasts till christmas?? I guess I’ll just have to sweat!!
Moving away from teddy fur and being a bit more ‘grown up’ everyone is talking about this smart coat from H&M and at £39.99 its a steal. I’ve seen this and its as lovely as it looks. It will look fabulous and smarten up a casual jean look but also thrown over your Sunday best.
Checks! Still REALLY big and there are lots of three quarter length and full length check coats in all your High Street stores. I particularly like the blazer type jacket and this cream/black check one from H&M at £25 is on my radar for next months allowance.
And the very British Trench coat. I love them… this one from Missguided at £35 is gorgeous.
And I couldn’t finish up my blog without a little nod to some hats and bags to wear with your coats. I am loving all the little faux fur bags out there right now and Baker Boy hats, they’re everywhere, along with berets – but the latter don’t suit me. I look more Frank Spencer than French Chic. I bought a Baker Boy hat yesterday which I’m sporting in my feature image.
I hope you like what I’ve sourced and as its October tomorrow, I’m kind of hoping that I’ll be able to continuously wear my coats and hats for the foreseeable. I went to watch the bro play rugby yesterday in London and not going to lie, I kind of sweated like a piglet in my jacket but I was not taking it off! I’m off to the V&A on Tuesday with school which I’m really looking forward to as part of my Art studies but before that I’ve got a mountain of homework to get through before tomorrow morning (eek!) and a geography test to revise for (double eek!) so wish me luck.
Hope you all have a wonderful week ahead and I’ll be back next Sunday with a new blog post.
